Great experience

I worked with Ahmed via email, texts, and calls. I had been looking for my hard-to-find car for over a year. When I found it at Greater Chicago Motor Company, Ahmed contacted me quickly to discuss my needs. Since I would be flying into Chicago and hopefully driving the car home, I asked a million questions, requested pictures, read dealership reviews, and asked more questions. Honestly, there were some terrifying reviews. I can honestly say I had a perfect experience, from beginning to end. I know things can go wrong and those people are the most likely to write reviews, but I have to say in my case, I have only good things to say. I scheduled an appointment with another independent 3rd party (the closest dealer of the actual make of the car) for a pre-purchase inspection. I was concerned this might be a problem but instead was told make the appointment and we'll make it happen. The car checked out perfectly except the front brakes needed updating. I was going to just take care of those, assuming that are normal wear and tear on a vehicle. When Ahmed found out they were mentioned on the inspection, without me asking at all, I got a text later from him of a picture of my car getting new, ceramic dust-free brakes at no charge. He said he didn't feel right letting me drive away needing anything and scolded me for not asking him to redo them in the first place. I had a total of 14 hrs to drive home, so I greatly appreciated this care. He also raided their fridge for Monster drinks to keep me awake for the drive. Haha. The car is GREAT!! I had a fun, amazing drive home and it is perfect. Thanks Ahmed for everything. The next time I need a car, I will definitely look at your inventory to see if you're having a Maserati sale. 😂

Ahmed is Awesome! Messaged him in the morning & He had My Chevy Corvette ready to go in the evening. He just gave me the keys & let me go with my dad for a test drive. Totally unexpected. He met my Family and took them for a Tour while I handled paperwork. He was very direct with us and explained into detail how the taxes, fees, would affect the pricing. Cool dude! Took a few pictures with him.

I left a happy customer yesterday ! I did my research thoroughly and upon speaking with William, I was convinced this was the dealership I was going to find my perfect car at. All white Audi truck, beautifully loaded! Customer service was amazing ! Lot was gorgeous! I feel like I got a great deal!

Scammers make promises can't keep them

My review would be too long to post in its entirety here so I am going to provide a cliff note version. In short, I bought this first car for my son a 2010 VW CC which I dealt with SAM SALEM throughout the process. He is the wholesale buyer for the dealership. SAM SALEM song and danced us with words for months about how great he was and how he was all about the customer etc. Was complete BS!!! Finally said he found a great car which I was supposed to pay wholesale for plus a $600 fee for service of buying directly through auction. Once he got the car in his possession which took forever, he said he had his mechanic check it out and it was very good. Even said this car can last your son several years. So the bad news started when the car was being shipped here by an independent trucking company SAM had contracted. When I spoke to the truck driver about coordinating drop off, he mentioned the car would not go into reverse. I immediately spoke to SAM SALEM and he said it was likely a linkage problem and an easy fix and not to worry. Said regardless of what was wrong he would make good and take care of it. He even preset an appointment at my local VW dealer to have the car inspected upon arrival. Perhaps the RED flag I should have listened to and simply not accepted delivery. However, SAM SALEM being the smooth talker he is, made me feel at ease that if it needed repair he would make good on his word. So we took delivery of vehicle - SAM SALEM brought the car down from Chicago himself via a pick-up truck and a vehicle hauler. Keep in mind that the truck driver that gave me the bad news about transmission, ended up taking the car to the dealership first which is where SAM SALEM supposedly had the car inspected. Once the car was in my possession, we did take it to VW of Noblesville IN. Here is where it gets bad. The car had a bad transmission and was basically inoperable! Car's core support was broken, cars manifold was bad! Not to mention car had a pretty good dent on the passenger side that was never mentioned. Also, keep in mind I purchased car sight unseen based on the word of this guy SAM SALEM. Cost to repair all of this and get the car roadworthy - Over $6,000. Thankfully, I found a great local mechanic who saved me a couple of thousand dollars. Now there are usually two sides to every story. This one I can assure has no other side besides lies and promises. If they reply to this, which I am sure they don't care enough to do so, it will no doubt be excuses and lies. Bottom line, DO NOT purchase a vehicle from her or SAM SALEM. You will be courted and made to feel like a friend and then crapped all over. The worst part is for weeks upon weeks, SAM SALEM said he would be depositing money into my PAY-PAL account to at least cover the transmission. Never happened and the slimeball disappeared into the night just like the typical shady car salesman. It's a shame that people no longer have the common decency to keep their word and do the right thing. There is actually so much more to this but again not enough screen to tell it all. STAY away from dealer and SAM SALEM and SAM ABBAS.

Very easy to do buisness with

I noticed this car on the website and sent an inquiry. The next day I test drove the car. Ahmed, the Sales Manager, gave me the option to drive with or without him. After the test drive, we talked numbers. Before I decided, I asked if I could take the car to a local shop to have an inspection. Without hesitation, Ahmed handed me the keys and said, "I'll see you in a little bit." I appreciate the trust he had in me and the vehicle. I wanted to sleep on it. Called the next morning and purchased the car. There was no pressure and the process to purchase was easy. I also like that I didn't have to have temporary plates, they put the plates on and we were on our way.

Great dealership! I was in the market for an Audi, the owner himself found me the exact model with really low miles. He went on an extended search nationwide to find it. He also gave me great deal for my trade-in car, more than any other dealer. The is absolutely the best customer service I have experienced buying a car. I highly recommend them.

Lying Dishonest Sales People

I purchased a 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 from Greater Chicago Motors last year in October 2018 & I've been having problems with this car since practically the beginning! Immediately after picking it up & driving the car home to Michigan, I observed a clicking noise when I applied the brakes & two days after that, the check engine light came on & started flashing & the car would start to shake & vibrate! I discovered that the emergency brake cable was broken, so I couldn't use the emergency brake to park on an incline. I also smelled gas, hoping it wasn't a gas leak. I took it to a shop & was told that the engine was misfiring. I was told that the engine was running lean, that the car had a bad ignition coil & the control arms needed to be replaced, that's why I was hearing the clicking noise when applying the brakes! I was also told it needed a new thermostat sensor. I was asked by the mechanic if I'd ever been in an accident with the car & I advised him no. The mechanic told me that he could see that the car had been in an accident because the front end was somewhat off centered! You can't really tell unless you closely look at & inspect the front end. He showed me how the hood was not flush with the front end & showed me all types of gaps throughout the front end! He said that someone attempted to fix the car, but did a poor job in doing it! I was shocked because the sales person, Ro, told me the car was a recent trade & that the Carfax came back clean & it had not been in any accidents. I didn't immediately check the Carfax & took his word for it, but after being told by the mechanic that the car had been in an accident, I finally checked the Carfax & discovered that the car had been in two separate accidents, the first in May 2017 & the other in August 2017, during 18 months it was at Greater Chicago Motors, so it wasn't a recent trade! Greater Chicago Motors had the car for a year & a half! I also discovered that over 18,000 miles was put on the car during those 18 months it was at Greater Chicago Motors, so someone at the dealership had been driving the car like it was their own personal vehicle while putting miles on it, got into two accidents with it, then Ro lied to me by stating that the car was a recent trade & hadn't been in any accidents! Unfortunately I took him at his word because I've purchased cars back home in Michigan from high end dealerships before & the sales people were always honest, but he wasn't. He was just trying to make a quick sale. During the financing process, Chad the finance manager also told me there were no issues with the car. When I later called to complain to Phil, the sales manager, he denied having any knowledge of the car being in any accidents while it was at the dealership & stated he didn't know what employee(s) would've caused it. Once again, another lie! He stated that if I wanted to bring the car back in & trade it for another one, I could do so. I asked him why would I trade the car for another one after they sold me a lemon in the first place! I told him they wouldn't give me what I paid for the car, so I'd only be taking a loss. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend anyone I know to purchase a car from Greater Chicago Motors. Their sales people are dishonest & will lie just to make a sale! Its stressful because I would've never purchased the car if I'd known it was in an accident!

Great Staff, great service, great car

Purchased a car from out of state and customer service was great from start to finish. Wally picked up the phone when I called the first time & he was attentive. Got back to us quickly with videos & photos of the car we were interested in & made the buying process very easy. Finance department was great, easy to work with. GCM arranged shipping across the country which got a little mixed up due to the shipping company shipping to our billing address instead of residential (different states) so the car took a little longer to arrive but the mistake was handled quickly & efficiently by GCM. Wally followed up after the car arrived & the car itself is in great condition as promised. Defects from age were disclosed honestly in photos prior to purchase & we haven’t had any problems.

I had my first experience with Greater Chicago Motors for the BMW I just purchased. Everyone I met with was very professional, nice, laid back, and most importantly, completely honest. It was truly a pleasure working with my sales consultant, Ahmed, as he is not only very knowledgeable, but customer service is definitely paramount for him. I had a similar experience when Ahmed introduced me to Sam (one of the owners) and even Chad (finance guy) — all very good people, SO far from the old school used car buying experience I was used to. I will DEFINITELY be recommending this dealership to my friends!
